About The President

He has contributed to and learned from some of the world’s best companies. He has helped some great small companies build their businesses and get successfully acquired. He has run startups and served on boards. And now, Peter Rakoczy is parlaying those unique experiences into helping entrepreneurs achieve their dreams of success.

With a 30+ year career that has taken him from banking to software to psychometrics and beyond, Peter now devotes his time to running Trillium Pointe Business Solutions Inc. The business coaching and consulting firm assists small and medium business owners with building value and realizing goals.

But what brought Peter to this point? To answer this, we travel back to his first role in Information Technology at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) in Montreal and later Toronto. He progressed through a number of positions to Manager of Office Systems Development before moving on to a four-year stint with LinkAge Software Inc. Rakoczy was Director of Professional Services before LinkAge was acquired by Microsoft.

It was at this time (1997) when Peter segued into what was arguably the most prominent international company of the time – Microsoft, assuming the role of Senior Director of Enterprise Services for the company’s Canadian office. Rakoczy honed his leadership skills by guiding the professional services team through a period of rapid growth and consistently exceeded profit goals.

After six years in that role, Rakoczy made the leap to Microsoft’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington as the new General Manager of Services Strategy. He says that while the experience was like nothing else, he eventually wanted to find his way back to his home to Canada. He did; in 2008, Rakoczy took on the role of President / CEO of a software firm geared toward the auto industry.

Today, Rakoczy runs Trillium Pointe and serves as the Interim CEO and board member for a startup, which offers soft skill assessments for professional institutions, public and private sector organizations.

Whether working with startups or coaching corporate executives, Rakoczy says his work with Trillium Pointe is continuously rewarding. He enjoys leveraging his extensive and diverse experience in business and applying it to the challenges of his clients. He adds, “it’s rewarding to watch the energy levels of business owners and executives change as they take control of their futures.”

‘Change’ is a word that applies neatly not just to Rakoczy’s work experience; it also applies to his way of thinking. When asked to share the most important piece of business advice he has, Rakoczy has this to say:

Go after ‘something’ with everything you’ve got, but always expect that ‘something’ to change!
